P a g e | 25 BUSINESS STRAND AG MARKETING & SALES Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 11, 12 This course focuses on the most challenging area of any business operation. Students will study basic economic principles that affect markets, commodity futures markets, options markets, promotional procedures and world export/import markets. Students will learn how to develop and implement marketing plans and sales procedures for a branded commodity of their choosing. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 11, 12 A course designed to develop the business analysis skills needed by all people. Students will learn to develop GAAP statements and analyze them for financial strengths and weaknesses. They will study financial and tax management. Students will develop a business plan for a business venture of their own choosing. The goal of the course is to help students develop a foundation of business skills. MECHANICS/TECHNOLOGY STRAND AG CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 This course will focus on construction methods and technology commonly used in agricultural, horticultural and residential construction. Topics covered include construction planning, site layout, concrete construction, construction materials, building framing and finishing. This class will build a class project to learn the methods of construction. Individual projects will be limited in this course. POWER TECHNOLOGY Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 A course that focuses on areas of technology that professionals in agriculture and horticulture as well as home owners can use. Students will study basic engine theory and work on small engines to troubleshoot and repair various types of 2 and 4 cycle engines commonly used in landscape and agricultural applications. ART A FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR EACH ART CLASS TAKEN. ADVANCED COMPUTER GRAPHICS Course Length: 1 Semester Prerequisite: Computer Graphics Credits: 1 Grade Level : 11, 12 In this course the students will continue to explore the computer as a fine art and commercial art medium. Using previously learned skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, along with desktop publishing programs the students will experience the field of commercial art through a series of projects. Fine art projects using advance techniques in Photoshop and Illustrator will be presented.
