P a g e | 36 DESIGNER’S CHOICE 2 Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12 Students in Designer’s Choice 2 will be working on projects in these areas of concentration: * Commercial building exercises from Revit commercial book (Floor Plan, Roof, Floor Systems, Reflected Ceilings, Interior & Exterior Elevations, Sections, Interior Design, Schedules, Building Site Plans). * Importation of commercial building into Lumion, creation of background and landscape components for realistic 3D project video. * Projects in animation using Flash * Assembly of real scaled model houses of one and two story houses This course can be taken during the same time as Designer Choice 1. COLLEGE FUND OF TECH DRAWING - DRF113 CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT (Purchase of Textbook Required) Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 LCHS, 3 WITCC Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12 This class will help develop the capacity to plan in an orderly fashion, to interpret the ideas of others, and to express thoughts in an understandable manner. This class is designed for individuals interested in shop work, house planning, design, drawing, interior decorating and engineering. COLLEGE INTRO TO CAD: AUTOCAD - CAD267 CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT (See Instructor) Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 LCHS, 2 WITCC Prerequisite: Mechanical Drawing Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 This course introduces students to standard industry practices for technical and industrial illustration. Emphasis is placed on understanding how edges and surfaces are represented using orthographic projection. Students will use computers to create technical drawings of mechanical components. COLLEGE INTRO TO INVENTOR - CAD277 CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT (See Instructor) Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 LCHS, 3 WITCC Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 This course teaches parametric solid model CAD basics. Three-dimensional parametric concepts with design intent and solid CAD models will be built and edited. This course focuses on using parametric solid modeling design software to develop technical drawings. Topics include patterns of features, editing, adding dimensions and creating simple assemblies. Students will print a 3D part using the 3D printer. MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Prerequisite: Intro to Inventor Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 In a lab/lecture setting, students will work in teams to design a product using “Inventor” software and CAD/CAM CNC Lathe and Milling machines to bring their part from design to the end process. Students will be exposed to fundamental of automation with controls and sensors, manual mechanisms, fluid power, electricity and electronics in manual and automated systems.
