P a g e | 37 TECHNOLOGY MODS Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12 This exciting computer based course is designed to provide the student with a broad experience in four main clusters of Industrial Technology (Communications, Construction, Manufacturing, and Transportation). The student will cover the following modules: Virtual Reality, Electronics, Graphic Design, Mechanical, Video Production, Multimedia (Power point), Desktop Publishing, Fiber Optics and LASERS, CAD 3D Architect, Flight Simulator, CNC Mill, Color CAMN (Vinyl), Animation, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Studio, Robotics, CNC Lathe Programming, Plastics, AC Electricity module, and Video Editing, and Computer Problem Solving. This course is ideal for women and men that want to be exposed to a wide range of technology used in today’s careers. VIRTUAL REALITY Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Prerequisite: Designer’s Choice 1 or 2 Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12 Students will design either a residential or commercial building with Revit. After building completion, students will use Lumion pro software to create residential or commercial sub divisions, applying different materials and special effects. The remainder of the course will be spent creating different lighting effects (lighting, texture, and material renderings of interior and exterior structures. WEB DESIGN Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 Introduces students to the digital tools used to create and publish web pages using WIX online software and Dreamweaver. The PC Platform, digital cameras, WIX website building, Dreamweaver, Flash Vortex, and Photoshop software will be used to create web based graphics. The course is designed to prepare students for an entry-level position in web design. Students will build web pages designed for education, business, government, or entertainment. WOODWORKING 1 Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Grade Level: 9, 10, 11, 12 This is a beginning course in woods. The students will learn how to use all the machines in the shop, while making a mirrored shelf. Good safety habits are stressed and carryover skills developed. The second class project is in mass production. The students will mass produce a folding table. The remainder of the course the students can make small to medium size projects. WOODWORKING 2 Course Length: 1 Semester Credits: 1 Prerequisite: Woodworking 1 Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 It will also be to the student's advantage to have taken a semester of mechanical drawing before enrolling in this class. Students will be able to select their own projects such as a gun cabinets, bookcase, cedar chest, entertainment center, night stand, coffee table, etc., with drawer and door construction emphasized. Half of the student’s grade will be the project. Good safety habits will also be stressed.
